Synopsis

These notes promote the value of learning from what has happened to enable better planning for the future. There are seven lists of five examples each.

  • Five types of review for church leaders and members
  • Five possible reviewers
  • Five elements of any review
  • Five reasons why people are fearful of review
  • Five benefits of creating a culture of review
  • Five dangers of creating a culture of review
  • Five not so common examples of church-based reviews

The examples include a personal review of one’s life and discipleship, review as part of staff appraisal, peer review within a team or group, exit interviews for church members who leave, and others. We are not to live in the past but to learn lessons from the past.
